The COVID-19 pandemic has seized numerous law firms and employers are learning how to successfully manage their work, their team, and their clients all from their home.
With COVID-19 as the backdrop, the Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC) hosted Gina Rubel, Brad Tellam, firm counsel and chief operating officer at Am Law 200 firm Stoel Rives, LLP, and Renee Branson, a certified resilience coach and the founder/principal of RB Consulting, for a webinar addressing how to manage, communicate, and effectively be positive through these times.
Branson shares three key tips for law firm leaders.
- Admit uncertainty.
- Set boundaries.
- Shift expectations.
Tellam said, “Empowering midlevel management and ensuring clear lines of communication have been successful for fostering firmwide resilience at Stoel Rives. The firm’s managing partner sends weekly emails that provide updates even when there was no news to report, “being able to say, ‘here we are, we’re all about you.’”
He went on to explain how his firm implemented an open-door HR policy along with other resources to help attorneys and professional staff deal with COVID-19.
